Lydia Lapotaire, CIEC
Lydia is an Indoor Environment Consultant and a Florida Licensed Mold Assessor specializing in indoor environmental assessments, mold & odor investigations, as well as cause & origin water intrusion investigation for commercial and residential properties.

As a CIEC, Lydia has earned the most respected certification in the field of indoor environmental consulting based on his training and field experience in building sciences, industrial hygiene and indoor environmental risk assessment.

 

The certification documents her skills and knowledge regarding design, construction and operation of buildings with respect to the quality and efficiency of the indoor environment in a manner that could be relied upon by individuals and organizations seeking her services as a consultant or advisor for the assessment and management of new or established indoor environments.

 

Lydia has proven that she can identify the causes of poor indoor air quality even when problems seem vague or unrelated to visible causes.


She has been able to gather and interpret data from various systems operating within homes and offices to help provide solutions to improve the indoor environment.  


She can Isolate and Identify the source of IAQ Issues in Homes or Offices and provide a solution to IAQ concerns such as, Mold, Bacteria, Infectious Disease, & VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).

 

Lydia has worked with Individuals, Builders, Contractors, and Building Managers Isolating and identifying the source of building envelope failures and IAQ concerns and providing solutions to improve their indoor environment. 


Lydia has performed Indoor Air Quality; mold and bioaerosol investigations, field investigations, and forensic diagnostic inspections throughout Central Florida for both commercial and residential properties.


She has personally prepared hundreds of remediation protocols in accordance with the ANSI approved IICRC S-520 for both commercial and residential projects.


Lydia has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas.  Her training has continued and includes advanced training in the collection and measurements of specific indoor air contaminants, including respirable particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, mold and bacteria.

A Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant is a professional who can identify the causes of poor indoor air quality – even when problems seem vague or unrelated to visible causes.

The Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant is trained to see a building the way a general practitioner sees the body of his patient – as an organic whole with dozens of interrelated systems contributing to overall health.

In order to diagnose the patient properly, the Consultant must be able to gather and interpret data from various systems operating in a building.

CIEC's have earned the most respected certification in the field of indoor environmental consulting.

A CIEC is certified as knowledgeable and experienced in HVAC, building science, microbial issues, lead/asbestos and industrial hygiene/toxicology.
  • To earn and maintain the CIEC, every candidate must:
  • Demonstrate at least eight (8) years of verifiable field experience in IAQ consulting
  • Pass a rigorous, psychometrically rated examination based on broad industry
  • knowledge rather than a course curriculum
  • Earn the unanimous approval of the CIEC certification board
  • Re-certify every two years
  • Participate in 20 hours of professional development activities each year
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards
